Sameer Jafri

Sameer is one of the Founders of Avive, and serves as the CEO. Since founding, the trio of Rory, Sameer, and Moseley have become the youngest founding team to ever receive a Class III Medical Device approval from the FDA, have been selected to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and have been recognized by international design, innovation, and healthcare related awards both personally and as a group. Prior to Avive, Sameer was the Founder & President of Saving Hearts Foundation, a non-profit based in Los Angeles that is focused on Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) prevention by providing free preventative heart screenings for youth and placing AEDs throughout the community. The foundation has grown to hundreds of volunteers across the Greater LA Area, and is actively supported by industry leading cardiologists and electrophysiologists from UCLA, Kaiser Permanente, HCA, and others. Sameer received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA.

Fun Fact

• During his elementary school years he won the award for best “Storyteller in Texas”. He’s still confused as to why his parents had him compete in that competition…
• Believes that ostriches should be eliminated from the Earth (yes he has somehow managed to be attacked by multiple ostriches).
• He’s such a big sports fanatic that he started watching ESPN religiously as a toddler before he watched more typical shows such as Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron, etc…
