NCISAA Partners with Avive Solutions to Bring Connected, Life-Saving AED Technology to High School Athletics Across North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C., -  The North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) is proud to announce a new partnership with Avive Solutions to expand access to modern automated external defibrillator (AED) technology for high schools across North Carolina. 

Through this partnership, NCISAA member schools will receive special pricing and training opportunities on the Avive Connect AED®, an innovative, connected defibrillator designed to help athletic staff and school communities respond quickly and confidently during Sudden Cardiac Arrest emergencies. 

"It was 18 years ago when I first used an AED to save the life of a NC middle school student in cardiac distress,” says Jon Schner, Director of Health, Safety, and Wellness for the NCISAA. “I administered two shocks before a normal rhythm was achieved.  Since that day, it has been a passion of mine to see that AEDs are available at all middle school and high school athletic practices and events across NC. Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death among student-athletes and on school campuses despite a proven therapy: an AED. Because student-athletes face heightened risk during intense physical activity, immediate access to an AED during practices and games can dramatically increase survival.
