Nearby Emergency Alert enhancements & new demo feature
What’s changed
The Device Connectivity Software 2.4 update for the Avive Connect AED® brings meaningful improvements to the Nearby Emergency Alert experience and introduces a new Nearby Emergency Alert demo feature. The update also contains regular background performance improvements. Users will start to receive this device update the week of May 5th, 2025.
New features
Demo Nearby Emergency button: Users can now simulate what a Nearby Emergency Alert looks and sounds like on their Avive Connect AED. To try it out, navigate to Settings > General > Training > and select the Demo Nearby Emergency button on the screen of your device.

Improvements
User interface updates for Nearby Emergency Alerts: The Nearby Emergency Alerts screen has been redesigned to deliver a smoother, more intuitive user experience. Users will now see Accept and Decline buttons on the alert screen, with a confirmation step to prevent accidental declines.

Updated map for Nearby Emergency Alerts: The updated map screen includes a larger QR code, providing users with easily accessible directions via their native phone mapping application (Google or Apple Maps). The map no longer displays the device’s current location with a blue dot, but instead emphasizes the emergency location with a red pin. New emergency Notes will automatically expand the Details section so that users can easily access key details from 911.

Nearby Emergency Alerts workflow enhancements: We’ve refined how Nearby Emergency Alerts function behind the scenes to make Nearby Emergency Alerts get to your device even faster when time matters most.
Location accuracy improvements: We’ve improved how accurately your device’s location is determined and updated in REALConnect.
Stability improvements and bug fixes: This update also contains a host of general performance improvements to help your device operate more smoothly and reliably. This includes reliability improvements to how the device establishes a connection with REALConnect and optimizations to battery usage.
Who’s impacted
While many of the updates in the Connectivity Software 2.4 release will benefit users with access to Avive’s Intelligent Response™ Platform who have Nearby Emergency Alerts enabled, the update contains substantial performance improvements that will benefit all users who interact with REALConnect. The Nearby Emergency Alerts demo feature is also available to all users, regardless of whether you live in a 4 Minute Community™ or PAD+ community, so everyone can explore how the system works.
