August 2026 Software Update
The summer 2026 REALConnect™ release brings a new way to manage documents inside the REALConnect software, tighter organization-level scoping for Incident records, and a more reliable SMS notification system behind the scenes. We’ve also refreshed the Locations and AED Detail Pages with a handful of User Interface updates to make day-to-day navigation more streamlined. The hallmark of this release, the Document Management feature, transforms REALConnect into a centralized hub for compliance and operational readiness allowing customers to securely store, organize and assign critical files directly to the entities that need them.
Who benefits
Administrators managing multi-location fleets will feel the biggest impact, especially those juggling device documentation, record keeping, or tracking Incidents across various Organizations.
New features
Document Management
The headline of this REALConnect release is the new Document Management feature. Users can now upload, download and assign documents directly to AEDs, Users, Incidents, and Locations all from one place. With the addition of this feature, REALConnect transforms into a centralized hub for compliance and operational readiness. It allows customers to securely store, organize, and assign critical files directly to the entities that need them. This feature is designed to support operational readiness, compliance documentation, training records, emergency planning, and post-incident reporting.
For example, if users want to use REALConnect to manage their employees’ CPR training records, CPR certification documentation can now be uploaded and assigned to Users within the REALConnect platform. Similarly, EMS registration or Cardiac Arrest Emergency Response Plans (CERPs) can be uploaded for Locations within an AED program.

Organization-Scoped Incidents
Incidents are now properly scoped to the Organization they occurred in. If a device is later moved to a different Organization, the Incident records remain accessible in the original Organization the emergency occurred in.
Improvements
User Interface
The module design for listed information on the AED Detail Pages, List, User and Location pages have been updated so that the information is more legible and scannable. On the Location Page, users can now filter the Location’s AED assignments by deployment status (i.e. Deployed or Inventory). Users can now easily copy to clipboard the Location address and AED Serial Numbers.

Emergency SMS Priority Delivery
Emergency Incident Notifications via SMS text message are now sent at the highest delivery priority, ensuring faster delivery to users during time-critical AED activation and Nearby Emergency alerts.
Who’s impacted
The Document Management feature is targeted towards Administrators in REALConnect, who have full access to upload, organize, assign, and manage all documents and document types. Managers in REALConnect will have limited access to view and download documents within their assigned scope, i.e. documents linked to AEDs or Locations that they manage.
Both Administrators and Managers will benefit from the refreshed Locations and AED Detail Page. Anyone working across multiple REALConnect Organizations or tracking incident history will benefit most from the Organization-scoped Incident records.
Why you’d use it
The Document Management feature is designed to support operational readiness, compliance documentation, training records, and emergency planning, and post-incident reporting by expanding the capabilities of REALConnect to provide more than just an overview of AED Program readiness. Users that are looking for a centralized place to keep any documents related to cardiac emergency preparedness will be excited to upload documents that enhance the information available from the platform.
